HDT M1030M1
In development since 1998, the M1030M1 is currently the fastest diesel-powered motorcycle on the planet, with a top speed of 85.46 mph in stock form. The U.S. Military (especially the Marine Corps) was looking for a quick reconaissance vehicle that can run on the same fuel as just about everything else the military uses, which is to say JP8. This vehicle is an IDI (Indirect Injection) diesel, which indicates that like the older Mercedes-Benz diesels or the Honda CVCC gasoline engine, it uses a prechamber to allow ignition of suboptimal fuel/air mixtures. This means it is able to run on a wide range of fuels including diesel fuel, kerosene, vegetable oil, and others.
