Quadcopter electronics including ESCs
dead cat bus bars.jpg
Electronics

This is the underside of a HobbyKing SK450 Dead Cat conversion upper frame showing the way I've chosen to connect the ESC power. Since the motor leads are long enough to bring the ESCs inboard, I'm doing that to reduce noise in the power system. The bus bars are constructed from 0.5mm thick copper sheet, folded over and soldered at the fold point which also becomes the feed point. They are double-covered in color-coded heat shrink insulating tubing, and have a carrying capacity of 60 amps in each direction assuming an allowable temperature rise of 10 degrees C. The feed lead will be the usual fancy silicone-sheathed fine-stranded wire, in 10ga, terminated XT60.
